Special Events -
The special events committee is responsible for raising money, helping publicize the Alliance and its Mission and promote end-of-life education.
Raising Money
Our Committee has helped the Alliance with funds raised for events such as a Road Rally, Garage Sales, and Trivia Night which is held in October each year.
Our Trivia Night brings teams of eight persons together to answer challenging questions. A silent auction, raffles and games are included in the night’s excitement.
Education
Each year, the Alliance sponsors locally the national teleconference on grief by the National Hospice Foundation. In the past, areas discussed included, sudden death, helping children, and ethical decisions. This is held each year in the spring.
Public Relations
This part of the committee is to let our Community know about the Alliance and our programs. We do this in every event we present or participate in, but, we focus on telling our story at health fairs and community events.
THE POWER OF FIVE
The Special Events Committee’s initiative “The Power of Five” is a challenge to our Alliance members and those who believe in our mission and wish to partner with us. The challenge is to turn your Passion into Action. The Power of Five could be
(1) Partner with others by giving. See how $5.00 a month will help or $10.00 or even $20.00.
(2) Talk with 5 people about the Alliance’s programs and end-of-life issues. Show your passion.
(3) Bring 5 items for special events. Gift Certificates, baskets, or coupons, they all help to raise money.
(4) Help 5 people prepare an Advance Directive. Encourage caring conversations.
(5) Invite 5 people to come to an Alliance meeting. Let’s share our passion.
